Railway Service Commission, Muzaffarpur was established in the year 1973. The Organization was renamed as Railway Recruitment Board in the year 1985. The office is presently located at Lichi Bagan, Maripur Muzaffarpur after its transfer from the building of Zonal Railway Training Institute, Muzaffarpur in the year 1985. Railway Recruitment Board, Muzaffarpur has been discharging its responsibilities of making recruitment for its present jurisdiction of Samastipur, Sonpur of East Railway. Railway Service Commission, Muzaffarpur, fifth Railway Service Commission in India, was established in the year 1973. In January 1985 Railway Service Commission were renamed as Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and in the year 1998, all RRBs came under the control Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB), which was set up in the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), New Delhi to co-ordinate and streamline the working of RRBs. The Railway Recruitment Board, Muzaffarpur directly recruits Technical and Non-technical categories in Group C posts on the basis of indents received from railways. At present this office functioning in a Railway Building situated at Lichi Bagan, Muzaffarpur just an half a kilometer from Muzaffarpur Junction in south-west direction. Jurisdiction: Railway Recruitment Board, Muzaffarpur carry out the recruitment of Group C posts for Sonpur and Samastipur Divisions of East Central Railway, Hajipur Organisation: The RRB is headed by the Chairman and assisted by Assistant Secretary with small team of Gr. C and Gr. D staff to run the RRB office.
